Cook at home Restaurant-style recipe for your father

•Turkey Waldorf pizza: Sure you can splurge on a gourmet pizza from that fancy pizza joint. Or, you can spend 10 minutes prepping this mouthwatering main.

What you need?

 Turkey Waldorf Pizza
1 can refrigerated Pizza Crust
1 cup (250 mL) chopped cooked turkey or chicken
1 cup (250 mL) chopped apple
1/2 cup (125 mL) sliced almonds, toasted
1/2 cup (125 mL) mayonnaise
1 tsp (5 mL) dried tarragon leaves
1/8 tsp (.5 mL) salt
1/8 tsp (.5 mL) pepper
2 cups (500 mL) shredded Swiss Cheese
2 tsp (10 mL) chopped green onions
 

How to cook?

 

•Heat oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly spray 12-inch (30 cm) pizza pan with non-stick cooking spray. Unroll dough; place in sprayed pan. Starting at centre, press out dough with hands to edge of pan. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until crust begins to brown.
•Meanwhile, in medium bowl, combine turkey, apple, almonds, mayonnaise, tarragon, salt and pepper; mix well.
•Remove partially baked crust from oven. Spread turkey mixture evenly over crust. Sprinkle with cheese.
•Return to oven; bake an additional 10 to 12 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is deep golden brown. Sprinkle with green onions. Cut into 12 wedges.

What you need?

Thai Noodles With Shrimp and Vegetables

1/2 lb (250 g) chow mein noodles or chunk soba noodles
2 tsp (10 mL) sesame oil
1/4 cup (50 mL) each less sodium soy sauce and reduced sodium chicken broth
1 tbsp (15 mL) light peanut butter
2 tsp (10 mL) each sugar and minced ginger
1 tsp (5 mL) canola oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 - 1/2 tsp (1-2 mL) red chili pepper flakes
1 pkg (500 g) Frozen Japanese Mix
1 lb (500 g) medium sized shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/4 cup (50 mL) cilantro

How to cook?

 

•Bring a large pot of water to boil over high heat. Add noodles and cook according to package directions. Drain well and toss with sesame oil.
•Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, chicken broth, peanut butter, sugar and ginger.
•Heat oil in large non-stick skillet. Stir in garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook 30 seconds. Stir in vegetables and cook and stir on medium- high heat 3 to 4 minutes. Add shrimp and cook until shrimp turn pink. Stir in soy mixture and cook stirring constantly for 1 minute.
•Toss with noodles. Sprinkle with cilantro.

What you need?


1 can (14 oz/398 mL) Black Beans
1 jar (440 mL) Thick N’ Chunky Salsa
2 cups (500 mL) chicken stock
Sour cream and chopped green onions

How to cook?

 

•In a large saucepan, combine refried black beans, salsa and chicken stock. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
•Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
•Garnish each serving with a dollop of sour cream and green onion
