Free Tips to Enjoy 2011 Holiday Menu without Gaining Extra WaistlinePart 2

This is second part of my blog on Tips to Enjoy 2011 Holiday Menu without Gaining Extra Waistline. You can enjoy holiday food in 2011 , with little or no weight gain? Yes this can be done!

Follow these tips and enjoy. Here you find some free tips to revise your holiday’s food menu with some healthy choices:

7. Trim the Turkey

Turkey is a staple at most holiday get-togethers. With a few simple tricks, you can pile your plate with protein without piling on the calories. Bake turkey on a rack inside your roasting pan. Drain any excess fat before serving. When it comes time to fill your plate, pass on the dark meat. It has more saturated fat than white meat. Skimp on the skin to curb calories and fat.

8. Bake Green Bean Casserole

This classic holiday dish doesn't have to be a diet doozy. Here is secret for slimming it down. Just simplify your cooking.Combine canned green beans with low-sodium/low-fat cream of mushroom soup and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grease your baking dish with cooking spray. Bake for 30 minutes and then top with toasted almonds and bake 15 minutes more. This finishing touch offers fewer calories than the traditional fried onion topper — plus nutrients such as vitamin E, protein, fibre, potassium and calcium.

9. Make More Sensible Stuffing

Revamp your recipe by substituting margarine for butter and low-fat chicken broth for chicken stock. Ditch the giblets and replace with lean meats and dried fruit, such as raisins. Cut fat content by cooking your stuffing in a casserole dish instead of inside your turkey.

10. Bake a Lighter Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin is rich in nutrients, such as vitamins A and C, beta-carotene, and potassium. Enjoy this classic holiday dessert without the waistline worries by updating your ingredient list. Swap in evaporated skim milk for whole milk, egg whites in place of whole eggs and a low-fat graham cracker crust instead of traditional piecrust. Top your treat with fat-free whipped cream and savour every delicious bite.

11. Eat healthy breakfast every day

When you eat breakfast, you won’t feel the urge to grab a high fat, mid-morning snack, such as a doughnut, croissant or fast food muffin. Eating a balanced breakfast can also decrease the amount of food you eat later in the day. Try a bowl of high fibre cereal (at least 4 grams fibre per serving), with skim or 1% milk and a piece of fruit or glass of pure fruit juice. If you have to eat on the run make a fruit and yogurt smoothie or have a whole grain bagel with peanut or almond butter and a banana

Free Tips to Get A+ Plus Grade in Your Exam in 2011-12

Summer vacations are almost half way. All students are now getting ready for new school year.

All parents want their son and daughter to do well in exams. Preparing for exams takes good study habits and a little common sense. Plan specific things to do which will help you study the material rather than just thinking what you need to study in general. All students should avoid the word, study which means everything and nothing. Think this way that I have 1/2 hour so I’m going to do 3 practice questions. The more you’re actually doing with the material the better you’ll grasp it. Taking breaks is good idea but be wary of letting yourself slip into laziness.

Here are some free tips to get A+

Tip 1- Read and Write

Read over the notes a couple of times and then summarize it in your own words. Writing it down might help store it into the long-term memory.

Tip 2- Review

Review your notes after each class. This way you’ll retain and understand information better when it’s still fresh in your mind.

Tip 3-Weekly understanding

Do weekly reviews of what you’re learning and approach your professor or teaching assistant with those issues which you do not understand. If you wait those problems will be difficult to understand near you exam.

Tip 4- Academic support

Make use of school resources for studying and academic support. Consult school counsellors as they can offer you some learning and study strategies you may not have tried before.

Tip 5-Advance Study

Start studying at least one week before any mid-exam and at least 2-3 weeks in advance of a final exam to give you an enough time to master the material.

Tip 6- Cue-cards

Convert all sub-headings in a chapter into exam type questions. Use cue-cards with pre-written topics and questions to quiz yourself.

Tip 7-Acronyms

Use memory aid and acronyms to remember challenging data.

Step 8- Routine

Have a routine the night before an exam. Check where the exam is being held, prepare a lunch or breakfast in advance, find something that helps you relax before you go to bed.

Use your imagination in best possible way to memorize certain sequences, equations, years, or any ordered data. This will help you memorize and recall. For example, the six noble gases that occur naturally are helium (He), neon (Ne), argon (Ar), krypton (Kr), xenon (Xe), and the radioactive radon (Rn).

Now to remember their symbols, just imagine something like this happening: when He come Ne Ar (near), I became Kr Xe (crazy) and Rn (ran). . Now if you remember this picturization, you will remember symbols easily.
