Who will win 2012 STANLEY CUP (Pittsburgh Penguins or Los Angeles Kings or?) Part 2

This is second part of blog on prediction for 2012 STANLEY CUP. In this blog you will see why Pittsburgh Penguins are will win 2012 cup.

2nd pick why Pittsburgh Penguins will win

Pittsburgh Penguins, the team I'm picking to win the Stanley Cup; this team produced at a 94-point clip without Crosby or the injured Evgeni Malkin last season. In the playoffs, they stretched the Tampa Bay Lightning to seven games and lost a coin flip. I think - or I'd like to think - that this year Malkin roars again, Crosby comes back as more than a shadow of him, and one of the great comeback seasons in hockey is written. After a seven-month layoff, the 25-year-old center looks ready to return to the level at which he was playing in 2008-09, when he won the Art Ross Trophy with a 113-point season. In preseason action, Malkin appeared fit and sharp, skating strongly and leading several goal-scoring breakaways."

Crosby, the Penguins' captain, will begin the season on injured reserve. There is no target date for his return from a concussion suffered in January.

More than Average Goaltending

In goal, Marc-Andre Fleury bring championship experience. Fleury backstopped the Pens to the 2009 titl

Solid Defense

The Penguins have good balance with clever young puck-mover Kris Letang and quietly effective Paul Martin leading the rush from the back end, while rugged Brooks Orpik and shot-blocking specialist Zbynek Michalek provide a physical presence.

Strong Forwards lines

These teams also have world-class forwards. Up the middle, the Penguins can roll out Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Jordan Staal. The penguins have scorers like James Neal, Steve Sullivan, Chris Kunitz and Pascal Dupuis. In the end, because I value centers more than wingers in terms of helping teams win, I'd give the Penguins forwards a little bit of an advantage.

Coaching

Penguins is very well coached by Dan Bylsma . Bylsma earned his ring in his current role as Penguins coach.

Who will win 2012 STANLEY CUP (Pittsburgh Penguins or Los Angeles Kings or?)

1st pick Why Los Angeles Kings will win

Here are some major reasons why Los Angeles Kings will win this year 2011-12, STANLEY CUP

The Kings may have blazed the trail into the NHL's Sunbelt back in the 1960s, but their fans have been forced to wait and watch - while sunny Stanley Cups have been raised in Carolina, Tampa, Dallas and even neighbouring Anaheim. Now with Dew Doughty back in the fold to join a young core that includes Jack Johnson, Anze Kopitar and what should be a highly motivated Mike Richards, the stage is set for the first Stanley Cup.

Bonus Prediction: Quisp writes approximately 84 articles complaining about these jerseys. (Photo by Jeff Gross/Getty Images)

Strong Forwards lines

-Mike Richards and Kopitar will be among the league leaders in points.

-Anze Kopitar continues to own.

-Justin Williams suffers a nagging injury early in the season that hounds him, leading to a disappointing season.

-Dustin Penner has solid secondary statistics but is accused of laziness and "taking games off."

-Dustin Brown has solid secondary statistics, solid primary statistics, doesn't "take games off," and leads the team well. But he doesn't fight..

-Kyle Clifford will progress nicely, jumping from 14 points last season to 20-25 this season while also developing his defensive game. Kings fans will laud him for this.

-Scott Parse will progress nicely, increasing his point totals while also developing his defensive game. Frolunda fans will laud him for this.

Good Defense

-Drew Doughty plays about the same as he did last season but, because he doesn't get unlucky on the PP this season, everyone will praise his renewed effort this season

-Jack Johnson plays better this year but, because he doesn't get lucky on the PP this season, everyone will wonder what's wrong with him.

-Alec Martinez makes everyone very uncomfortable because he outshines Jack Johnson repeatedly.

-Viatcheslav Voynov makes everyone very uncomfortable because he outshines Alec Martinez repeatedly.

-Willie Mitchell plays very well but misses a few games here and there with injuries.

-Rob Scuderi plays better defense than Willie Mitchell but everyone says that the Kings should re-sign Mitchell and trade Scuderi next off-season.

-Matt Greene does a lot of dumb things but still ends up being a good defender because he is big and strong.

More than Average Goaltending

-Everyone expects either Jonathan Quick or Jonathan Bernier to firmly establish themselves as the Kings' #1 goaltender and that the other one will be traded next off-season.

-Both play well at different times, Quick still has seniority, no one is traded, many online arguments are had.

Experience Coaching Staff/Front Office

-Terry Murray is a. experience coach.

-Jamie Kompon will put on John Stevens' glasses to see if anyone notices.

-The Kings will finish in the top ten in goals against, power play percentage, and penalty kill percentage. Kings fans will find something to blame the coaching staff for anyway.

-Hey, why is our face-off percentage so low? Goddammit, Kompon! This wouldn't happen if Guy Boucher were the coach!

-Dean Lombardi will say, "I'll tell ya," approximately 1,300 times.

-Kings finish 1st
