Unfortunately, there is no single psychological or behavioral profile for stalkers. Every stalker is different. This makes it virtually impossible to devise a single effective strategy that can be applied to every situation. It is vital that stalking victims immediately seek the advice of local victim specialists who can work with them to devise a safety plan for their unique situation and circumstances

Research studies

If you want to know something about stalking, then prepare yourself to be surprised. Here are some research findings:

  • Women stalk men nearly as much as men stalk women

  • Men and women also stalk each other in similar ways

  • Men stalk more at night and women stalk more by day.

  • Nearly 3 out of 11 people who break up will begin to feel or think they are being stalked.

  • On any given day, about one out of a thousand people may feel like they are being stalked.

A true stalker can't stand to be ignored. If they can't have your love they will settle for your anger and hatred. The worst things you can do are responding and interact with someone who may be stalking you. Why do they feel this way and what can you do about?

Despite a growing body of research in the past five years, stalking is still very misunderstood by the public, the courts and law enforcement. For practical purposes there are three types of stalking.

1. Relationship stalking occurs when a couple breaks up. But that is not stalking in a legal sense. It just looks like and feels like stalking.

2. Obsessional stalking develops because of the way the couple interacted and the way they broke up. Obsessional stalking is a psychological problem that has many causes but in general it is the result of an "on again" and "off again" relationship as was well as a "desire and fear of a relationship" in one person and "fear of separation and loss" in the other. The childhood of at least one these people is usually emotionally barren or emotionally abusive.

3. Delusional stalking occurs when a mental disorder causes the person to become obsessed or fixated on some unsuspecting person because of what amounts to a medical condition. In some cases a severe psychological obsession becomes delusional. The delusional stalker becomes irrational and fixated on people like movie stars, a public figure, a co-worker or even a former intimate relationship.

Unwanted pursuit behavior

Nearly 90% of all college students who break up will engage in what is called "unwanted pursuit behavior". Pursuit behavior includes writing notes, giving gifts, making phone calls, contacting friends, following the person or intruding in their life. This can border and easily cross the line and become an obsession.  What researcher’s find interesting is that pursuit behavior is normal. If Jane dissolves a relationship with Bob, then it is very common for Bob to pursue Jane as a means to restore the relationship. Researchers call this a "relationship repair mechanism." Some people and even the courts mistakenly call this stalking.

The worst type of stalker has to be the ex who once shows lot love and now want to murder you. We have all heard of the type: "If I can't have you, nobody will," but secretly hoped they were only in the movies where they boil dead pet rabbits. They exist in reality, too. Eventually moving across the country helped to eliminate mine, but while I was in the situation and unable to flee, I found some ways to stay safer.

Here are cools tips to rid of stalking…

Move to new Place

Moving across the country/city/town is good choice if you can do this. This way you will have new place to live with new ideas for new life. The hassle of moving is well worth the peace of mind when in bed at night hearing scraping noises on the window. Some states, like Arizona, have laws that allow you to break a lease if you are in danger in a domestic violence situation.

Keep Evidence

If stalker has guts to leave dozen of phone messages, than keep those recording for future use. They ranged from suicidal: "I'll kill myself without you," to homicidal: "You should be dead and rotting in a trash heap." I brought them to the police. Also keep a log of all stalker activity, with times, dates and photos of any damage he's done to your home or car.

Contact Police

Talk to local detectives and let them know the situation. Keep them updated with any stalker activity, no matter how menial it may seem. Don't call them every five minutes or you'll just turn into the boy that cries wolf, but do update them regularly.

Change your daily route

Change your daily route to go to work or to shopping. Go to work early or late. Walk your dog to a new park.

Change your Phone number and get phone ID

This will help you to get less crank calls. Block your number and give the number to trusted people.

Never go alone to new place/shop/club

Avoid going alone to new place/shop/club/gym.

Talk to Relationship counselor

End the relationship together with the help of counselor. Talk to a counselor to help you make sure that you don’t send mixed messages.

Mutual friends

Don’t talk to mutual friends or the other person’s friends about your relationship.

Talk to Mental health professional

Contact a qualified mental health professional if you believe you are at risk or if you are being stalked.

How to say no nicely

•I'm not interested in having a relationship with you.  Do not continue to call, or stop by, or have any contact with me whatsoever.

•I am ending our relationship.  Do not make any attempt to try and renew it.  I will not change my mind.  I do not wish to have any contact with you now or in the future.  IF you try to contact me, I will take legal action.

Pair your chores with little rewards. Crank up your favourite music as you sort through things you need to give away. Pay your bills while you wait for a tray of cookies to bake. Iron your clothes in front of the TV.

2. Use of Designated Area

Keep only the knick knacks you have room to display. Pick your favorite decorations to display in a designated area like a bookcase or a shelf and get rid of everything else that doesn't fit in that space.

3. Naming boxes

Make your storage vertical. Organize your holiday decorations, bulk household products and little-used items into labeled boxes and stack them on sturdy shelves. That way you can find them easier when you need them.

4. Use Garage and Attic space

Turn your unused garage, attic and under stairs space into storage. Keep bigger seasonal items out of sight when they're not being used.

5. Clothes Organization

Organize your clothes by the way you wear them. You can hang all your dress clothes in one part of your closet, stack all your casual clothes on your shelves and keep all your gym clothes in a drawer. Store all cardigans with matching slacks, blazers with skirts, rather than by type. Then return hangers to the closet so the hooks face out. Once you’ve worn a set, hang them the other way

6. Use Portable Container for supplies

Take your stuff where you use it. Craft supplies, tools, wrapping paper and bow .You don't always use these things in the same room of the house. Store them in a portable container and you can keep them organized everywhere you take them.

Keep small things where you can see them. Organize toiletries, craft supplies, electronics cables and more in clear containers so you can find the things you need quickly.

8. Group Organization

Organize your things into families. Towels, washcloths and hand cloths. Cleaning supplies, sponges and rags. Envelopes, paper, labels and stamps. Group like things together so you can find everything you need for a project fast.

9. Use Stackable bins

Make it easy to get to the things you need. Organize your possessions in stackable bins so you can un-stack and restack and get to the things you need quickly.

10. Space-saving Containers

Store your things with matching containers. Even the biggest piles of clutter seem easier to sort through when everything is stored in matching, space-saving containers.

11. Remove out-of-season stuff

Wash or dry-clean your winter gear, then bag or box it and stash out of the way.

12. Mismatched Hangers

Irregular shapes hangers take up more space and the wire ones that dry cleaners use are hard on your clothes. Try a coordinated set.

Most effective Hand sanitizers to use-Alcohol or benzethonium chloride based?

Most effective Hand sanitizers to use in daily life

Winter is time for getting more viruses. So preventing this happen we all must use some good quality hand sanitizers. In this blog you will find which kind is most effective Hand sanitizers?
Most effective Hand sanitizers to use-Alcohol or benzethonium chloride based?

Since the 1990s, alcohol-based hand sanitizers have become the gold standard for quick disinfection. They are used daily by people looking for ways to avoid colds and flu. But they have an important drawback: although they kill most bacteria and viruses, they quickly evaporate and have no lasting effect. That means you can almost immediately pick up more germs from the next object you touch.

In addition, some users complain that alcohol-based sanitizers cause dryness and irritation.

New Hand sanitizers

Now there’s a new generation of non-alcohol hand sanitizers, most of which contain the active ingredient benzalkonium chloride. This antimicrobial chemical is touted as being tough on germs, safe on skin, and effective for up to six hours after a single application.

Which hand sanitizers are best?

That’s pretty easy: alcohol-based hand sanitizers,” says Jason Tetro, a microbiologist who has established a media presence as “the germ guy.” Tetro works in a lab at the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada, that tests the effectiveness of hand sanitizers.

High Kill Rate

Alcohol has a wider spectrum of kill,” says Tetro. “Most non-alcohol hand sanitizers are effective against bacteria, but they don’t do so well against viruses like the norovirus (the usual cause of gastrointestinal outbreaks aboard cruise ships), the common cold viruses, and the hepatitis viruses, mainly hepatitis A.”

Tetro allows that non-alcohol hand sanitizers have a residual effect in carefully controlled studies. But he’s not convinced that they stay protective in the real world. “If your hands are relatively clean and you’re only touching one thing between uses, then there’s a possibility that this persistence will work,” he says. “But if you get oil or dirt or anything else on your hands, it’s going to cover the product and therefore take away its ability to maintain that persistence.”

Real-World Effectiveness

Another drawback of non-alcohol hand sanitizers, he adds, is that repeated use without hand washing tends to form a noticeable layer of “gunk” on the hands. “The beauty of alcohol-based hand sanitizers is that you can use them repeatedly and each time they evaporate after 20-30 seconds. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers have been better-studied than non-alcohol in real-world settings such as clinics and hospitals, where they have been shown to reduce infections. For that reason, organizations such as the CDC and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommend that healthcare workers frequently wash their hands and use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer each time after touching an object.

Preventing Dryness

Alcohol is drying,” says Tetro, who cites research showing that 40 of every 3,000 users of alcohol-based hand sanitizers may develop skin problems such as contact dermatitis. But he says that in most cases the dryness is not severe. Preventing alcohol-based hand sanitizer-related dryness and irritation is easy. Use a moisturizer, Tetro says: “When I start noticing some redness and patchy areas, I run for the Aveeno.”
For now, simple economics favor the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers. An 8-ounce bottle can be had for as little as $1, while an 8-ounce bottle of benzethonium chloride-based hand sanitizer costs as much as $10.
Tetro recommends that everyone carry an alcohol-based hand sanitizer and use it often. “I always do,” he says. “Everybody should have hand sanitizer with them. I think people are realizing it’s not necessarily just for flu but for all sorts of different viruses.”

How to Maximize Car Battery Life in winter

Tips to keep your batteries in Good Health to maximize their lifespan (save money)

In many places in North America, winter is very harsh. This harsh winter always affect our car batteries. We all want our cars to start when we needed. Car batteries typically last between 3 and 5 years. How to maximize your car battery Life in 2013? Here are some new ways to prolong a car's battery

1. Avoid parasitic drain

How to maximize car battery Life in winter

It's a good idea to be aware of how your car batteries operate. People tend to think that the larger the battery the better, but that isn't necessarily the case. It's best to determine how much amperage your car requires, and choose a battery of that size. If you choose one that has larger amperage than your car needs, it might not last as long. A car's battery will drain naturally over time. Certain accessories, like the clock and alarm, require constant power. This is called a “parasitic drain” and it is normal, in moderation. “Add-on” accessories, like heavy-duty speakers, can cause excessive drain and lead to a dead battery. Leaving a car's headlights on overnight or a door ajar for a few hours can have a similar effect.

In fact, car accessories may be one of the main reasons why batteries drain in extreme weather. If you're stuck in stop and go traffic, try to turn off as many accessories as you can, while still feeling comfortable. You don’t want to leave your heater, seat warmers and rear-view defrosters on all the time.

2. Using Trickle Charger

A trickle charger works by charging your battery at a rate similar to the rate at which it discharges. However, it is possible to cause damage to your battery by leaving it on the charger for too long. While a trickle charger works at a much slower rate than a regular battery charger, they are not designed to be left on a battery indefinitely. Depending on how depleted your battery's charge is, you may need to leave it on the trickle charger for a few hours or for a day or two. It is important to monitor the battery while it is on the charger and remove it immediately upon receiving a full charge. Otherwise, the battery could be ruined or even catch fire.

3. Check for battery corrosion

Corrosion can prevent a car from starting, and it's caused by a faulty connection between the battery case and post. It can be aggravated by loose battery terminals, cracks in the battery casing, debris, and extreme heat and cold, as well as over-charging. Regular battery inspection and cleaning can help prevent this.

4. Disconnection

Disconnect your battery if you're parking your car for the winter. If you plan on keeping your car in the garage during the colder months, disconnect your battery. This will prevent erroneous drain.

5. Less use of air conditioners

Car accessories should be minimized all year round. Dead batteries don't just happen during the winter. In addition to the corrosion that can arise from extreme summer heat, air conditioners are a huge source of battery drain.

6. Car Accessories (radio, heater)

Turn your accessories off before you turn off your car. Starting a car with the heater and radio set to full power can drastically reduce a battery's life.

7. Using Float Charger

A float charger works much in the same way as a trickle charger--by delivering a slow charge to the battery. However, the float charger is designed to prevent over-charging of a battery. It can sense when the battery has received a full charge and thus ceases charging until the battery begins to lose its charge. When it senses a loss in charge it will automatically resume charging. Due to this feature, the float charger can be left on a battery indefinitely.

How to Use Trickle and Float Chargers

A good use for a trickle battery charger is for a battery that has not been in use for several months as it is better for a battery to be recharged at a slow rate. A good use for a float charger is for a vehicle that is rarely driven, but that the owner wants to be able to access at any time without having to recharge the battery.

It is important to know how to connect a charger to a battery to prevent damage and injury. There should be a black clip and a red clip on the charger. These are what you use to connect to the battery. The red goes on the positive terminal, usually marked with a plus (+) sign and the black goes on the negative terminal, usually marked with a minus (-) sign. It is recommended to connect the back first and then the red. Once the wires have been connected to the battery, plug in the charger then turn it on.

And remember - the better you take care of your car's battery, the longer it will last. “I've seen car batteries last as long as 7 years, with proper care, while this isn't typical, it's certainly possible
