Here are some free tips to cope with Your First day Of College/University

1. Involve yourself and enjoy activities

As tasteless as it sounds, you should go to at least some of the activities your school has for new students. Whether it’s a meet and greets, tour of your new home or a silly dance, go and try to meet people. If there are activities for peeps with certain interests, like the first meeting of the LGBT club or an art workshop, head to the one that best describes you. Meeting people with common interests is a good way to start things off.

2. Know you’re not alone.

First and foremost, keep in mind that everyone is feeling the fear and anxiety that you’re experiencing. Yes, even that confident-looking girl who always sits in the front of class and talks to everyone. A being nervous doesn’t make you a hopeless loner.

3. Try to make good friends.

During the first semester of College/University, everyone is anxiously trying to find someone, anyone, they can relate to, do things with and who can sympathize. No matter how shy or antisocial someone looks it’s likely that they’ll be relieved and open if you walk up to them and introduce yourself. Break the ice by talking about how crazy the whole experience is.

4. Ask for help if you feel depress

If things get to be too much, go to your school’s health center or call a hot line. Incoming college freshman are known for depression and, in really bad cases, suicide. Don’t let things get out of hand and don’t be embarrassed to get help.

5. Limit your fun

Yes, your parents are not breathing down your neck, but that doesn’t mean you have to go out and take 17 shots of wine and chase it with a big blunt. A ton of people ended up in the ER for alcohol poising during my first couple of weeks at many colleges. Not the best way to kick off the year.

2011 Strange Porn Website by PETA (Good or Bad idea)

In another sensational attempt to draw attention to the plight of animals, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is planning to launch a porn site later this year. A spokeswoman for the group says the site will feature adult content along with graphic images of animals that viewers may not expect to see. “We are preparing to launch our own peta.xxx site, but instead of just showing people our iconic ads we then show them how animals suffer for entertainment,” PETA's Ashley Byrne told Australia's Herald Sun. The organization says its sexy side displayed in galleries and videos will quickly give way to the sinister world of animal mistreatment uncovered by the group’s hidden camera investigations. PETA has raised temperatures -- and controversy -- over the years by employing porn stars like Sasha Grey and Jenna Jameson as well as scantily clad models and celebrities in TV commercials and advertisements to promote animal rights, veganism and vegetarianism. Earlier this month, Hulk Hogan's daughter, Brooke, participated in a provocative photo shoot for a PETA campaign. The 23-year-old was photographed lying naked in a cage as part of the Women In Cages exhibition.

"I hope it shocks people to see a human in the place of an animal," Hgan said. "It really shows how absurd that treatment is. ... We're all God's creatures. Just because we don't speak the same language doesn't mean animals don't have feelings too."

We live in a 24 hour news cycle world and we learn the racy things we do are sometimes the most effective way that we can reach particular individuals," said PETA spokeswoman Lindsay Rajt.

Instead of focusing on anti-fur, the porn site will raise awareness of veganism, said Rajt. "We really want to grab people's attention, get them talking and to question the status quo and ultimately take action, because the best way we can help the greatest number of animals is simply by not eating them."

An increasing number of groups are suggesting that eating less meat is better for your health, and certainly better for animals. PETA's website describes life for animals on factory farms:

Chickens have their sensitive beaks seared off with a hot blade, and male cattle and pigs are castrated without any painkillers. Farmed chickens, turkeys, and pigs spend their brief lives in dark and crowded warehouses, many of them so cramped that they can't even turn around or spread a single wing. They are mired in their own waste, and the stench of ammonia fills the air.

So how pornographic will PETA go? According to Rajt, it will have enough adult content to qualify for the XXX domain site but also some other graphic images of animals that viewers may not expect to see.

The year of Ryan Gosling continues in this stripped-down thriller that features the chiseled Canadian as a stunt driver who gets involved in a criminal plot that goes horribly wrong. Future auteur Nicolas Winding Refn (Bronson) took top directing honors at Cannes, which was sweet vindication for Gosling, who raised eyebrows when he hand-picked the experimental Dane to helm the film. We’ve all seen Gosling break hearts; this is our chance to see him break heads

 

Moneyball

There’s few things more American than Brad Pitt and baseball, both of which collide in this Bennett Miller adaptation of the landmark novel by the same name. Pitt plays real life former Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane, who tried to reshape his cash-strapped club by defying baseball’s oldest conventions. If Pitt finally wins an Oscar for his portrayal (he’s an early favorite), he may finally be the man who has everything.

J. Edgar

After the one-two punch of Shutter Island and Inception, Leonardo DiCaprio is firmly entrenched in our good books, a position that will further solidify when he stars as notorious FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover in Clint Eastwood’s epic look at the private life of one of America’s greatest and most polarizing innovators.

 

Tower Heist

Both director Brett Ratner and former king of comedy Eddie Murphy look to return to form after a series of flops stunted their careers. Ben Stiller and Matthew Broderick also come along for the ride in this heist movie that casts a Bernie Madoff type as the main villain. Anything that doesn’t involve Murphy in a fat suit can’t be a bad thing.

The Ides of March

We know the ladies will be lining up to see Ryan Gosling and George Clooney share the screen for the first time, but a closer look reveals a tense political thriller about power and what some people will do to attain it. A true jack-of-all trades, Clooney acts, writes, directs, and torch-passes in this early awards favorite.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

If Tom Cruise ever wants to get his career back on track, the time is definitely now. Although the last Mission: Impossible earned an all-time low for the series, it was still north of $100 million. Still, Cruise is used to much bigger numbers, and this will be a good indicator of whether or not audiences are still willing to buy him as an action star. Pixar vet Brad Bird directing and the eye-popping scenes of Cruise scaling the Burj Khalifa are good early signs.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

If there’s one director who knows what men want, it’s Guy Ritchie, who returns for a second take on the legendary detective. Also back is fanboy icon Robert Downey Jr. as the titular gumshoe and Jude Law as his sidekick, Watson. This will also be America’s first look at Noomi Rapace, the Swedish star who’s looking for her big break. Something tells us this might be it.

The Descendants

Alexander Payne hasn’t made a film since his endearing buddy comedy Sideways almost 10 years ago made Paul Giamatti a star. Now Payne is back directing a somewhat bigger star, George Clooney, who plays a father forced to readjust after his wife goes into a coma and he learns that she’s having an affair. Don’t miss your only chance to watch Clooney get his heart broken by a woman.

Normally a film about a man dealing with cancer would be as much fun to watch as watching, well, a man dealing with cancer, but early buzz on this buddy dramedy starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the afflicted man and Seth Rogen as his best friend couldn’t be better. Rogen based the story on his friendship with his real-life friend who was diagnosed with cancer, so expect more tears than the usual Rogen film.

The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo

Even if you didn’t read Stieg Larsson’s international best-seller about a journalist (Daniel Craig) and a punk slacker (Rooney Mara) who team up to solve a murder, it’s impossible not to get excited for one reason, and one reason only: David Fincher. The American auteur is at the top of his game, and brings with him newly-minted Oscar winner Trent Reznor, who will handle scoring duties. Thanks to a thrilling trailer and the source material’s pedigree, this ultra-noir affair is officially the most anticipated film of the holiday season.

In Once Upon A Time, she'll play Emma Swan a bail bonds collector who learns she's the missing daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. Those dirty lil dwarves are probably to blame.

9. Julie Benz (A Gifted Man)

Julie's one of the hotter cougars in Hollywood. She's appeared in 2008's Rambo, Saw V, and on dozens of TV shows including her stint on Dexter as Rita Bennett. On A Gifted Man, she plays Christina Holt, who we're hoping has some kind of weird affiliation with Arrested Development's Steve Holt.

The lead woman for The Pussycat Dolls was originally going to be a co-host for the American version of Simon Cowell's American Idol killer then she replaced fellow hottie Chery Cole. This chick shouldn't be behind a desk. She should be showing her behind... in our bedroom.

11.a Phoebe Tonkin (The Secret Circle)

There's no way you know this 5'10" 22 year old Australian actress with the unreal eyes. Her most interesting credit is the upcoming movie "Bait" which centers around, "A freak tsunami traps shoppers at a coastal Australian supermarket inside the building ... along with a pack of tiger sharks." Jesus. Anyway, she'll play Faye Chamberlain on The Secret Circle.

11.b Poppy Montgomery (Unforgettable)

The 36 year old actress with the longest birth name known to man (Poppy Petal Emma Elizabeth Deveraux Donahue) is best known for playing Samantha Spade on Without A Trace. She portrayed Marilyn Monroe in the 2001 mini-series Blonde. On Unforgettable, she'll play Carrie Wells, a former NYPD detective who "sufffers" from a condition that gives her the ability to remember everything. I thought ALL Women have that condition.

11.c Rosa Blasi (I Hate My Teenage Daughter)

The 38 year old Puerto Rican princess had a recurring role on The Bold and The Beautiful and guest starred on shows like Frasier, Caroline in the City, Beverly Hills 90210, and The Drew Carey Show. She'll play Deanna Diego on I Hate My Teenage Daughter. Yeah... I mean... who doesn't, right?

11.d Rachel Bilson (Hart of Dixie)

The series follows Rachel as Zoe Hart, a doctor moves to a remote town in Alabama when there are no jobs available for her in New York. The sultry siren who played Summer on The OC will reunite with that show's executive producer for this go around.
